Switzerland, through OPTIM Project, reinforces its support to local businesses in Moldova at the “Empower Locals” Conference
The “Empower Local 2024” Conference, organized by AIM, underlined the importance locals businesses in accessing new opportunities on EU markets. Switzerland and Helvetas, through OPTIM project, being a reliable partner for AIM for the past 5 years, have reaffirmed the support to building a strong and resilient business community.
On April 18, in Chisinau took place the third edition of the Empower Locals Conference. The event focused on exploring the opportunities offered by the European Union for local entrepreneurs, as well as identifying the support available to strengthen local businesses.
Then President of Moldova H. E Maia Sandu and Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba have also attended the conference.
“We gathered with a common purpose: to empower local businesses and entrepreneurs, equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and connections necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving marketplace. We would like to thank the Alliance of Small and Medium Enterprises of Moldova for the efforts of supporting local businesses and staying committed to their mission of building a strong and resilient business community.
Today we celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship and collaboration that lies at the heart of projects, like OPTIM. We recognize that preparing and entering new markets requires more than just ambition, but also a strategic approach grounded in innovation, determination, and a deep understanding of local dynamics. The Swiss Agency fo Development and Cooperation, as well as our partner Helvetas, reaffirms the commitment to supporting local businesses, harnessing their potential to drive economic growth, create jobs, and build a brighter future for generations to come.”, Guido Beltrani, Direcor of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation
"The purpose of the event is to equip local entrepreneurs with knowledge, information and strategic approaches in the context of European integration opportunities. The more these opportunities are accessed and shared, the more optimistic entrepreneurs we will have in Moldova. And the country's name will reach the global business map.", Liliana Busuioc, executive director, AIM
In addition to the informative sessions, 4 thematic seminars on export, talent management, product communication on the international market and business growth strategies were organized.
The conference was, at the same time, a significant moment in the activity of the Alliance of Small and Medium Entreprises – 8 years of activity, during which the organization promoted and protected the rights of SMEs in the Republic of Moldova.
At the Empower Locals Conference, an event dedicated to educating and informing SMEs on opportunities and trends for 2024, organizers brought together more than 120 participants: local entrepreneurs, SMEs, support organizations, development partners, and government institutions addressed the topic of increasing the competitiveness of local businesses and strategic development in the context of the launch of negotiations with the European Union.
