Innovation and experience sharing at Growtech Antalya: Moldovan farmers in search of cutting-edge technologies
In November, Moldovan farmers and entrepreneurs had the the opportunity to discover modern technologies, innovative solutions for agriculture, and to interact with specialists in the field at the largest greenhouse fair in the world, Growtech Antalya.

The OPTIM project, together with the "Agro Oguz" Association and the National Federation of Farmers, organized the participation of a group of six Moldovan farmers in this landmark event. The purpose of the visit was to bring home new technologies for greenhouse production, to learn from the practices of international partners and to contribute to the development of sustainable agriculture in Moldova.

During the visit, farmers also participated in a practical session at the Rijk Zwaan Türkiye research station, one of the global leaders in the development and marketing of high-quality horticultural seeds. There, farmers learned about innovative grafting techniques and advanced methods to increase agricultural productivity.
? Mihai Croitoru, one of the participants, said: "At the exhibition, the automatic irrigation system caught my attention the most, which would make our work in the greenhouse much easier, because we are currently doing everything manually. I also saw new varieties of vegetables that I would like to test in our greenhouse. Participation in the exhibition showed me that there are so many innovations in agriculture, which would be good to have in Moldova. We come here to study the market, exchange experience with producers in Turkey and take best practices.”
This exchange of experience gave Moldovan farmers the chance to understand how they can apply new technologies and acquired knowledge to improve their efficiency and competitiveness in the market.
Participation in Growtech Antalya was made possible thanks to the financial support provided by the Swiss Government and Helvetas through the OPTIM Project. This program continues to support Moldovan farmers in the transition to a modern and high-performing agriculture.
