Agriculture and Technology Together at AgTech 2026
For the fourth consecutive year, the OPTIM Project (Helvetas), together with its partners in the agri sector, participated in AgTech 2026 - a platform that brings together innovation and agriculture.
The event gathered companies, entrepreneurs, and experts interested in how technology can transform field operations and contribute to a more resilient agricultural sector.
During the event, three well-known companies on Moldova’s market – Frudova, POMUL REGAL and Moldpack – presented their experience with business digitalisation. They demonstrated how adopting technological solutions helped them improve production processes, become more competitive, and better manage challenges such as climate risks, labour shortages, and increasingly demanding market requirements.
The examples presented reflect real experiences tested in difficult conditions – from frost affecting harvests to pressure on operational capacities. In such contexts, technology has proven to be an essential tool for adaptation and performance, generating tangible results for agricultural businesses.
These advances have also been supported through Switzerland’s development assistance, implemented in Moldova by Helvetas.
“Supporting farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs in their digitalisation process remains essential. Investments in technology help the agricultural sector become more competitive and resilient in the face of economic and climate challenges. Switzerland remains a reliable, long-term partner in modernising Moldova’s agricultural sector,” said Guido Beltrani, Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in the Republic of Moldova.
Participation in AgTech once again highlights the importance of collaboration between the private sector, development partners, and public institutions to accelerate the modernisation of agriculture. Through such initiatives, farmers and companies in Moldova gain access to innovative solutions that strengthen their competitiveness and help them respond more effectively to current challenges.
Helvetas Moldova and its partners remain committed to supporting this transformation, contributing to the development of a modern, sustainable, and prosperous agricultural sector in the Republic of Moldova.
