Moldova’s Startup Ecosystem Takes Off: Switzerland Reaffirms Strategic Support at Startup Moldova Summit 2025

Startups are the real catalysts of change—redefining industries, generating value, and building smart, inclusive solutions for modern economies. 

With over 250 active startups, and 17% of founders being women, Moldova is clearly entering a new phase of entrepreneurial ambition and global integration.

During the summit, Simone di Stefano, Deputy Director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), delivered a strong message of strategic commitment from the Swiss Government:

“Startups are catalysts that reshape industries, create value, and build impactful solutions for society. Switzerland will continue supporting the development of a strong and inclusive startup ecosystem in Moldova—and backing the innovators who are shaping the country’s economic future.”

Through the OPTIM Project, implemented by Helvetas, Switzerland has contributed with a clear vision: to build the infrastructure, partnerships, and skills that early-stage entrepreneurs need to grow and thrive—locally and internationally.
