Moldova–Switzerland Business Forum in Zurich boosts trade and investment prospects
On 12–13 March 2026, the Moldova–Switzerland Business Forum took place in Zurich, bringing together business leaders, public institutions and development partners from both countries. The event was organised by the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Zurich in collaboration with Helvetas Moldova.
he Forum highlighted Moldova’s growing appeal as an emerging destination for investment, driven by ongoing reforms and its European integration path.
A dedicated agriculture panel, moderated by Bojan Kolundzija from Helvetas Moldova, showcased opportunities for Moldovan agri-food products on the Swiss market, with contributions from key industry associations.
Speaking at the Forum, Guido Beltrani underlined Switzerland’s long-term commitment: “It is in Switzerland's long-term interest to promote stability and prosperity… We share the interest of having countries with a well-functioning democracy and a well-functioning market economy.”
Discussions also focused on the Free Trade Agreement between the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) states and the Republic of Moldova, in force since April 2025, which is expected to further strengthen bilateral trade.

For Helvetas, the Forum is part of a broader effort to boost Moldova’s agri-food competitiveness through the OPTIM Project.
As Bojan Kolundzija noted:
“This Forum is an important milestone… We are learning directly from Swiss market actors and translating those insights into how Moldova’s agriculture can become more competitive – to the benefit of Swiss consumers and Moldovan producers.”
The event was organised with the support of development partners, including the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and Helvetas Moldova.
