First Day of the Regional Advocacy Network Training in Chișinău

This week, Chișinău became a meeting point for 25 advocacy practitioners from Albania, Switzerland, Serbia, Montenegro, and Ukraine, who joined the Regional Advocacy Network (RAN) Training hosted by Helvetas Moldova.

First Day of the Regional Advocacy Network Training in Chișinău
9th September 2025

The three-day programme is designed to strengthen advocacy skills, exchange practical experiences, and explore how organisations across the region can more effectively influence policy-making processes.

The opening day set the stage for meaningful discussions and learning. Participants explored:

  • EU Policy and Advocacy – the EBA Perspective: The European Business Association (EBA) Moldova shared how it engages in policy dialogue and advocacy, offering a hands-on look at the role business support organisations play in shaping reforms.

  • Onboarding into UN and EU Human Rights Advocacy: A session highlighting mechanisms available within European and international institutions to hold decision-makers accountable and to address critical issues from a national perspective.

  • Onboarding into EU Policy and Advocacy from a National Perspective: Participants gained a practical overview of EBA Moldova’s policy and advocacy work, providing inspiration for how national organisations can navigate and influence European-level processes.

The day ended with an interactive onboarding session preparing participants for the next modules, ensuring they are equipped for deeper dives into advocacy strategies and practical case studies.

Over the next two days, the group will continue meeting key Moldovan partners from different sectors, including agriculture and IT, to learn from their valuable advocacy experience.

By creating a space for exchange and collaboration, the RAN Training strengthens bridges between business support organisations, civil society, and public institutions — helping to advance a culture of dialogue and accountability across the region.
