First Graduates of the MBA in Agribusiness: A New Generation of Leaders for Moldova’s Agricultural Sector
The first cohort of the MBA in Agribusiness has successfully completed their studies - a milestone that marks the rise of a new generation of professionals ready to transform Moldova’s agricultural landscape.
Developed by the Technical University of Moldova (TUM) in partnership with the Agency for the Development and Modernisation of Agriculture (ADMA) and supported by the OPTIM Project, implemented by Helvetas, the programme was designed to build managerial capacity, innovation, and sustainability in the country’s agro-food sector.
Over the past two years, participants combined academic learning with hands-on experience, exploring topics such as value chain development, sustainable production, and business management. Through field visits, mentoring sessions, and applied projects, the MBA equipped them not only with business knowledge but also with the confidence to lead change within Moldova’s growing agricultural community.
Fifteen graduates proudly received their diplomas during the graduation ceremony held at TUM, in the presence of programme partners, mentors, and representatives from Helvetas Moldova.
“By combining knowledge with practical skills and the right connections, we give the next generation of farmers a real boost and the support they need to build modern, competitive agriculture,” said Bojan Kolundzija, Country Manager at Helvetas Moldova, during the ceremony.
